My first real, normal valentine’s day
began today, at one second past midnight.
It’s surprising that I had to be 36 before I can get this kind of Valentine’s Day, but here it is now, and I am giddy with joy. I am like a teenager again, hence a blog post specially for this day. And beginning this year, my Valentine's Day will always be on the day itself, no longer a day before or a day after.
So this is how it feels like. I've always wondered about it. I thought it happened only in books, in movies, and to other people. And now it's happening to me. Just when I thought I had run out of chances and time, he stepped in and turned my whole world around when I least expected it. Now I know it's true what they say, that life is what happens when you're busy planning for something else. I was planning to be man-less for the rest of my life. Now I will never be alone again.
My love, thank you for being here, for giving me a family and a circle of very close friends in Manila. Thank you for long walks and coffee, for movies that take us a week to finish watching, for endless nights and wonderful mornings.
Thank you for time together, for shared memories. Thank you for accepting me, for loving me, for never breaking a promise. Thank you for keeping the fire alive, for keeping things real, for normalcy. Thank you for this day. Thank you for the rest of our life together.
